Lendecke was in contact with Rodin and made his debut as a sculptor at the Salon des artistes francais. Through Josef Hoffman he got in contact with the Wiener Werkstätte. He contributed a lot to its fashion fashion workshop, worked for fashion journals and executed illustrations for the "Simplizissimus". In 1914 Lendecke moved to Budapest and in 1915 to Vienna.
