Paola Epifani, known professionally as Rabarama, was born in 1969 in Rome, Italy. She is a painter and sculptor whose practice spans marble, bronze, aluminum, rubber, resin, and oil painting. Rabarama lives and works in Padua, where she has been based since 1990.

The daughter of artists, Rabarama began her formal training at the Arts High School in Treviso, and later studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, graduating with top honors in 1991. Her work often features human and hybrid figures whose surfaces are decorated with symbols, letters, hieroglyphics, and geometric patterns, forming a kind of skin or membrane that evokes themes of identity, genetics, and psychological complexity.
