The artist Pär Siegård was born in Helsingborg on Lundsgård. He was given the baptismal name Per Sigurd Nilsson, but in the late 1910s he took the name Pär Siegård instead. The auction's colorful painting in the cubist spirit was performed in 1917 and is monogram-signed SN for Sigurd Nilsson. After adventurous study trips to, among others, Germany, France, Africa, Austria and Italy, he returned to Sweden the same year that the auction painting was performed.
