    Johannes Petrus Paulus 'Paul' Bodifée was a painter and printmaker. His work is primarily in the manner of the Haagse (The Hague) School even though he focused his effort on depictions of the landscape and city views in the Deventre province of Overijssel.

    Bodifée was the son of Matthias Joseph Bodifée (1826-1906) and Elizabeth Hendriks (1829-1867). He completed the drawing program at the normal school, followed by training in painting and engraving at the Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten. Upon graduation, Bodifée set up an atelier in Nieuwer-Amstel. He was quickly recognized for his talents and became affiliated with the Arti et Amicitiae and the Pulchri studio in Den Haag.
