    Paul Franz Flickel was a Berlin landscape painter known for his realistic and detailed depictions of lighting moods and effects. He was apprenticed to his grandfather Carl Gropius and later studied in Weimar and Düsseldorf. Flickel specialized in capturing lighting effects in his paintings and found inspiration for his work during his annual study trips to various locations such as the Mark Brandenburg, Austria, Italy, and the Baltic Sea. In 1894, he was appointed as a professor at the Berlin Academy of Arts....
