    Pierre Hodé, real name Georges Ducenne, was a French painter and theater designer affiliated with the Rouen School. After World War I, he moved to Paris and stayed at the Bateau-Lavoir in Montmartre with Pierre Dumont. He was connected with key Cubist artists, a friend of Juan Gris, close to Maximilien Luce and Pierre Mac Orlan, appreciated by Raoul Dufy, and painted Maurice Utrillo's portrait. His first Salon d'Automne submission in 1919 was poetic cubism. In 1924, health and financial issues led him to manage the Café de Paris in Honfleur for six months, painting murals and canvases on "Le Port" and "La Lieutenance".
