    Paul Paeschke (1875-1943) began his artistic education with studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin from 1900 until 1906. He was a master pupil of Karl Köpping who taught him fine arts graphics. Some of his etchings were already displayed in 1905 at the main art fair of Berlin.

    He undertook many journeys through Germany and other European countries. The Impressionist Paeschke created numerous masterly etchings, which can equally be placed next to the graphic works of Max Liebermann, Max Slevogt or Lesser Ury. He mainly depicted the busy inner-city streets and places of Berlin and other cities and so he became an important chronicler of public life during the first decades of the 20th ...
