In his recent works, Pawel Olszczynski is increasingly moving away from the drawing medium so typical of his work so far. The compositions still remain on the border of surrealism, but new motifs that the artist enters into them - the characters of chimeras, stylized birds, curling cigarette smoke - refer the viewer directly to painting at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. A new hero also appears - a mysterious character - until now represented in Olszczynski only by attributes, masks, hair or clothes - here he reveals his face.
