    If Norwegian sculpture were to be accused of being provincial, it would not apply to Per Palle Storm (1910-94). He was a world man; Born in Copenhagen, raised in South America, with studies in Germany, Spain, France and Italy. In 1930 he entered the State Art Academy, and then it did not take long before he noted himself in the Norwegian sculpture environment.

    Early, he made his appearance in sculpture contests. His draft of the Anker Bridge in Oslo was premier but not used. The same thing happened to the Holberg monument. The prize was applicable to model modeling, but the jury could not imagine the idea itself. Then, in 1939, he won in the contest for a monument in Drammen over the skate Thorleif Haug.
