Peter Thompson was born in London, England, where his childhood drawings were filled with the sights and sounds of war. During two years of National service with the RAF, he gained his Advanced level G.C.E. in art. His career began as a Display Artist in Selfridges department store in London. In 1967 Peter and his family immigrated to Canada and in the late 1980’s he enrolled at ACAD, studying watercolour, colour, life and figure drawing. In 1967 Peter and his family immigrated to Canada and in the late 1980’s he enrolled at ACAD, studying watercolour, colour, life and figure drawing. Peter works primarily in watercolour and his landscapes record life and images from the many countries he travels. His work is held in private collections in Canada and beyond.
