    Phil Kelly was an Irish painter who emigrated to Mexico in 1989, where he developed almost all of his artistic production.

    He was one of the few artists interested in painting the urban landscape, since the spatial complexity of a city is infinite and not all the painters venture to represent the languages, codes and icons of the main arteries of a city as Kelly did.

    Components such as streets, railways, cars, parks, buildings and signs became Kelly's main reality in his work, while the natural elements were only a decoration. He used a palette of explosive colors filling the work with light contrasts, capturing the mood of the city day and night.
