    Pierre Boucherle

    1894-1988

    Boucherle had provisions for the drawing very early in his life. He was a student at the Lycée Carnot in Tunis; he offered his first works for newspapers in Tunis.

    Mobilized during the First World War, he then came to Paris. In the period of the inter-war, he met painters, first Modigliani and then André Derain, Moïse Kisling, and Guillaume Apollinaire .

    In 1923, he received his first scholarship study trip to go to Spain to study art. He was a student at the École des Beaux-Arts in Tunis .

    In 1931 he exhibited at the Paris Salon.

    After World War II, he returned to Tunisia and created with other painters of the Group of Four, which quickly became the Group of Ten.
