    Pierre Székely, a native of Budapest, was a talented artist who studied drawing with Hanna Dallos before being deported to a labor camp in 1944. After escaping from a convoy of deportees to Germany, he settled in Paris in 1946 and resumed his work as a draughtsman. In the 1950s, he began creating sculptures in various mediums, drawing inspiration from surrealism and abstraction. Székely collaborated with architects like Henri Mouette and Claude Guislain, leading to his work being installed in public spaces such as housing estates and schools. He achieved recognition for his artistry, winning the Grand Prix at the Biennale Internationale des Arts de la Rue in 1978.
