    After a long stay in Paris (1771-1779) drew Pietro Giacomo Palmieri to Turin, where he worked at the court of Savoy. Noticeable in his works is the influence of Salvatore Rosa and Guercino, and in particular by the Frenchman Claude - Joseph Vernet.

    Landscapes of Palmieri are in the Louvre, the Uffizi Gallery and the National Gallery of Scotland. How much his landscape gouaches were prized above all in France, by the words of the engraver Jean - Georges Wille indicate who made the following entry in his journal in January 1775 " M.
