Piotr Michalowski was one of the most exceptional painters of the Polish romanticism period and his work is widely recognized around the world. Michalowski was multi-talented. In the years 1815-1821 he studied Environmental Studies, Law, History and Languages at the Jagiellonian University and in Getynga.

At the same time, since childhood, he studied drawing at workshops of M. Stachowicz, J. Brodowski and F. Lampi. He worked for the Polish Kingdom administration.
