About Ray Sexton

  • Biography

    Ray Sexton's art education started at the Ostendorf Art Academy in Dayton, Ohio, and by the time he graduated from high school, he was selling his work. Then he studied at the Minneapolis Art School for two years and later for two years at Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado.

    He was featured in many art publications including Art of the West July/August 1994, Sporting Classics July/August 1993 and Wildlife Art News November/December 1991. His paintings were chosen for the Robert Lougheed Award at the National Cowboy Hall of Fame 1995 "Prix de West Invitational." The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum selected his art for their "Birds in Art" exhibition every year from 1984-1993. ...
