    Remigio Valdes de Hoyos was born in 1958. Self-educated, he started in the plastic arts at the age of thirteen. However, under the pressure of his parents, he studied Architecture at the UNAM. From 1975 onwards he devoted himself entirely to the visual arts. In 1978, he moved to Paris, where he installed his residence and was introduced to the technique of copper engraving in the workshop Lacourière-Frélaut.

    In 1984, he worked with Andrew Vlady of Kyron Limited Graphic Editions in Mexico. In 1998, he received a scholarship for an artistic residence by the Starke Cultural Foundation in Berlin, Germany. In 1999, he decided to settle in Montreal, Canada, fascinated by the energy provided by that cit...
