    Rémi Blanchard, born September 27, 1958 in Nantes and died in Paris on May 11, 1993, was a French painter. He was part of the Free Figuration movement.

    Rémi Blanchard was born in 1958 into a family of ten brothers and sisters. His painting is particularly inspired by his memories of childhood, large family, vacation: camping, caravan, bohemian life.
    He studied mechanics then, at the end of the 1970s, enrolled at the School of Fine Arts in Quimper in the region of Bretagne, where he met Bernard Lamarche-Vadel (professor of general culture), and where his fellow students were Catherine Viollet, Hervé Perdriolle, Yann Kersalé and Bruno Carbonnet.
