    Richard Albitz was a German painter known for his landscape works. He studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule Charlottenburg from 1904 to 1907, where he was a pupil of Hans Hartig.


    In 1910 and 1911, Albitz was associated with the Berlin Secession, a movement that championed modern artistic expression. In 1913, he became a member of the Verein Berliner Künstler, further establishing his presence in Germany’s artistic circles. That same year, he was awarded the Golden State Medal in Vienna, recognizing his artistic achievements.

    Albitz had a strong connection to the town of Pretzsch, where he spent summers and maintained an atelier in the local castle. His works were exhibited in various art shows, including a notable display of 43 paintings during the town’s 275-year celebration in 1926.

    Studied at the Charlottenburg School of Applied Arts and simultaneously attended a Berlin studio, presumably under Eugen Bracht. In 1907, he studied under Hans Hartig, a member of the Allgemeines Deutschen Kunstgenossenschaft (General German Art Association), the Association of Visual Artists, the Reich Association of Visual Artists of Germany, and, from 1913, the Association of Berlin Artists.
