    Richard John Croft (b.1935) Born in London, he studied at Bromley College of Art 1951-55 and Brighton College of Art 1957-58. He travelled to Belfast in 1959 to Dunlambert School, Fortwilliam and then succeeded Wilfred Stewart as Head of Art at Annadale Grammar School. In 1966 he won a commended prize in the Gallagher Portrait Competition. He was a founder member of Group 63 in London and the Octagon Gallery, Belfast. Recent solo exhibitions have been held at the Kilkock Gallery, Kildare (1996) and the Bell Gallery, Belfast (2000). He has also participated in numerous IELA exhibitions as well as the annual RHA and RUA shows.
