    Roberto Iras Baldessari was born on April 23, 1894 in Innsbruck and died on June 22, 1965 in Rome. Baldessari was an Italian/Jewish painter, graphic artist and sculptor. Actually born Roberto Marcello Baldessari, Iras was his nickname since 1923, in order to distinguish himself from Luciano Baldessari.

    Roberto studied since 1908 at the Academy in Venice and at the Royal College of Art "S. Croce" in Florence. He was a master student of the painter Guglielmo Ciardi and studied graphics under Emanuele Brugnoli. In 1915 he studied fresco painting at the Scuola d'Arte S. Croce in Florence. He joined the circle of the Florentine Futurists (Campana, Conti, Lega, Notte, Rosai Soffici, Venna) as well. In 1920 he...
