    Rolf Krause was a German painter and graphic artist. He was born in 1908 in Dresden.


    Krause studied from 1926 to 1933 at the academy in Dresden with Ludwig von Hofmann. He was a master student of Max Feldbauer. From 1933 to 1940 he did freelance work as portrait, still life and landscape painter in Dresden.


    From 1940 to 1946 Krause was in Military service and captivity. In 1946 he freelanced again in Dresden and increasingly turned to graphics.


    In 1947 he was a founding member of the artist group "Das Ufer". From the years 1955-68 he was a lecturer at the Faculty of Workers and Peasants of the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden. Then from 1965-68 Krause was a lecture...
