About Rolf Zillmer

  • Biography

    His earliest memories were in New York City of his German immigrant father creating art but too poor to devote himself to it. Following high school, Rolf was drafted into the Korean War. Too poor for expensive schooling, he took a few classes from the Art Career School and the School of Cartooning and Illustration in New York. He worked for an advertising agency and then went to California and the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. He worked as an illustrator in the aircraft industry and free-lanced for studios. As a fine artist, his paintings and sculpture are landscape and wildlife.
