Romanos Rizk - Artist Info

About Romanos Rizk

  • Biography

Romanos Rizk (1927-2013) was a prominent and longstanding Provincetown artist and for 40 years had enjoyed an international reputation and the accolades of museums and corporate collectors for his striking, large abstract canvases inspired by the Zen philosophy “One With The Tao”.

Born of Lebanese parents in Providence, R.I., Rizk moved to Provincetown where he, classically trained, established his own unique style of Abstraction. His success and special place within that genre is attested to by numerous museum invitationals and acquisitions.

When Rizk first came to Provincetown, he studied with Henry Hensche at his Cape Cod School of Impressionism, and on the Cape, worked in a restaurant while painting on the side.
