    Artist Rudolf Lunghard was born in 1902 in Hoxter, Germany.


    Rudolf Lunghard was a German ceramist and porcelain designer. He was director of the Selb Porcelain School and painter and etcher (1902 Höxter on the Weser until 1983).


    He had an apprenticeship as a porcelain painter at the Fürstenberg porcelain manufactory. Lunghard studied at the Stuttgart School of Arts and Crafts, and furthered his education at the Höhr-Grenzhausen ceramics school and at the Academies in Stuttgart and Venice.


    He undertook study trips to Italy, North Africa and Spain in 1922-24, and in 1930 earned a master's degree in pottery. From 1926-39 he was a teacher at the Stuttgart School of Applied Arts. ...
