    Rudolf Nissl (born April 13, 1870 in Fügen, Austria and died October 2, 1955 in Munich, Germany) He was the son of an innkeeper. He studied from 1887 to 1889 in the painting class of Ludwig Schmid-Reutte and since October 13, 1888 as a matriculated student with Johann Caspar Herterich, Ludwig von Löfftz and Paul Hoecker at the Munich Academy.

    From 1895 he was a member of the Munich and Vienna Secession, later also a member of the German Association of Artists. From 1938 to 1944, Nissl was represented at all major German art exhibitions in Munich with large still life.
