    Rudolf Tschudi biographical photo
    Born and trained in Schwanden-Glarus, Switzerland, Rudolf Tschudi immigrated to Cincinnati.

    A portrait, landscape, and still life painter, Rudolf won First Prize at the Ohio Mechanics’ Institute in 1874, and a medal at the 1904 St. Louis Exposition. He was an active member of the Cincinnati Art Club, and a friend of Frank Duveneck.

    His work can be found at the Evanston School, Cincinnati; the Kunsthaus, Glarus; and the Cosmopolitan Bank, Cincinnati. Two of his works, Entrance to Burnet Woods on Clifton Avenue and View of Cincinnati - 1800, can be found in the Cincinnati History Library and Archives at the Cincinnati Museum Center.

    Rudolf Tschudi was born in Schwanden Glarus, Switzerland in 1855. He was a painter who specialized in landscapes, portraits, still life, and historical subjects of Indians. He lived in Cincinnati, Ohio for the majority of his life. He died in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1923.
