    Ruth Emma McCulley Tears (1919-1971), American

    Ruth Tears was born in Detroit Michigan. She studied art at Southern Methodist University, Dallas; at the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts School with Perry Nichols, Otis Dozier, Frederic Taubes and Emily Guthrie Smith. She was a member of the Texas Printmakers society and the Texas Fine Arts Association.

    Her work was widely exhibited across the state including at the Dallas Allied Arts Exhibition; the Texas General/Texas Painting and Sculpture Exhibition in 1954. She showed at the Texas Fine Arts Association; the Museum of New Mexico in Santa Fe; Southern Prints and Drawings Exhibition; Dallas Museum of Contemporary Arts; and numerous galleries in Dallas, Fort Worth, Midlan...
