In 1956, he participated in another painting competition in Jakarta with a painting called Bunga Mawar (the Rose Tattoo), and again he gained the first prize. His paintings are much admired and appreciated: many of them belong to President Soeharto's and Mrs. Tien Soeharto's collection.
