About Sadegh Tabrizi

  • Biography

    A pioneer of Iranian modern art, Sadegh Tabrizi’s work is characterised by his use of traditional Iranian forms and motifs including calligraphy, architectural elements, metal work, talismanic shirts, coffee house murals, Persian miniatures and Qajar painting.

    After studying miniature painting at secondary school, Tabrizi worked in the ceramic workshop of the Administrative Office of Fine Arts. Graduating from the newly formed College of Decorative Arts in, he continued his studies with an MA in interior design.
