In 1845, he was one of the founding members of the Deutscher Künstlerverein. Corrodi was known for his talent as a watercolorist and his rare paintings. He found his home and motifs in Italy, where he had high-ranking clients, including the Grand Duke of Tuscany and Tsar Nicholas I. Our painting demonstrates that even in later years, Corrodi still tried to reproduce landscape and architectural elements as accurately as possible
