    Salvador Abril Y Blasco was a painter and ceramist, born in 1862, and trained at the Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Valencia. He was a pupil of the landscape painter Gonzalo Salva y Simbor, who influenced him in his technique when it came to landscape painting.

    Salvador specialized in story painting based on the romances of Aguirre and Matiol, in seascapes, portraits and still lifes, all with a highly naturalistic technique. At the age of seventeen Salvador Abril was already well established in the artistic world.

    His work can be found in private collections and in institutions such as the Naval Museum in Madrid, the Provincial Council of Burgos, the City Museum, the Victor Balaguer Library-Museum in Vilan...
