    Seff Weidl was born in 1915. He went to France and Italy after completion of his studies at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste of Munich.

    During the Second World War, he was called up for military service and fell into captivity. After his return home and the expulsion from Sudetenland, he found a new home in Bavaria. There, he began working as an independent artist.

    In 1948, a selection of his work was first exhibited in the Kunstverein Stuttgart. National and international solo exhibitions followed, for example at Kleemann Gallery in New York, and at the Neue Galerie Linz.
