    Sergey Ivanovich Pichugin studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture under prominent artists such as K.A. Korovin, A.M. Vasnetsov, and S.V. Malyutin until 1912. He created murals and painted orthodox churches. In the 1920s, he exhibited under various art societies such as the Society of Wandering Exhibitions, Union "Zhar-Tsvet" in 1929, and "I.E. Repin's Society" in 1929.
