    Seweryn Bieszczad was born in Jaslo in 1852. From 1868-1876, Bieszczad was a student of the Krakow School of Fine Arts. He also studied in Vienna and the Munich Academy with A. Wagner. Severin Bieszczad was primarily a genre painter, the author of pictures from the life of villages and small towns. Many of his works are based on literary motives (eg scenes from the works of A. Mickiewicz). Bieszczad also painted city views and landscapes, incl. from the vicinity of Krosno, where he settled permanently in 1890. He exhibited a lot - at the Society of Friends of Fine Arts in Krakow, the Krywult Salon and the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Lviv, Munich and Vienna.
