Shmuel Ovadyahu (1892–1963) was an Israeli painter whose work reflects a lyrical sensibility and deep engagement with Jewish cultural life. Born in Ukraine to an Orthodox Jewish family, Ovadyahu moved to Lodz, Poland, at the age of seven. His artistic talent was recognized early and supported by a local patron, enabling him to study at the Art Academy in Warsaw from 1903 to 1913, and later at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, where he trained alongside Israel Paldi.
