Sigrid Holmwood was born in 1978.


British-Swedish artist Sigrid Holmwood strives to get to the heart of painting: as an activity, as a material substance and as a vehicle for shared history, knowledge and meaning.


She is inspired by the 19th-century peasant painters of the Dalarna province – whose folk art is a national symbol of Sweden – which she studied during visits to the Skansen Museum on the island of Djurgården,
