Qian Songyan, the owner of Qianlu, also known as Songyan, whose house name is Yanshilou from Yixing County, Jiangsu Province.

At the age of 8, Qian studied poetry, writing, calligraphy and painting with his father, and began to sketch at the age of 15. He was influenced by Hu Tinglu. He studied traditional painting and was exposed to Western painting techniques. He once taught at Wuxi Art College. In 1957, he was a painter and later dean of the Jiangsu Painting Academy. Songyan Qian is good at landscape painting and calligraphy. He has his own style and is a famous contemporary painter.
