    Stanislaw Bagienski initially studied in Warsaw's drawing class with Wojciech Gerson. He continued his painting studies in 1901-1903 in Munich, and later in Paris. He was a member of the Pro Arte association. He collaborated as an illustrator with "Tygodnik Ilustrowany", "Biesiada Literacka" and Warsaw's "Swiat". The artist lived in Warsaw, where, starting in 1900, he exhibited many times at the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts.

    The subjects of his paintings are mainly battle compositions from the history of Polish armies, glorifying the Polish soldier, as well as genre scenes, views of old architecture and Tatra landscapes. Most of his works, based on the anecdotal thread, are in the spirit of the tradition of Pol...
