Biography
A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, where he was educated under the supervision of Józef Pankiewicz and Teodor Axentowicz. Axentowicz has just had a special and lasting impact on his work, visible in decorative lines, a bright, subdued range of color, precise fixation of the character traits of the models. He was primarily a portraitist, especially the Podhale Highlanders and beautiful Highlanders in traditional costumes – the Highlander’s Study is in the collections of the National Museum in Warsaw, but he also painted genre scenes and Tatra landscapes. Most often he used pastels, although he happened to create in oil and watercolor technique. He exhibited in many Polish cities: Krakow, Poznan, Piotrków, Kalisz, ...
