    Tadeusz Dominik was born in Szymanów in 1928. From 1946 to 1951, he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, graduating in 1953 from the studio of Professor Jan Cybis. After graduating, he began working as an assistant in the studio of Professor Waclaw Waskowski at the Faculty of Graphic Arts. He received scholarships from the French Government (1958-1959) and the Ford Foundation (1961-1962). He consistently developed his academic career, obtaining the title of full professor in 1988. He twice served as Dean of the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He retired in 1990. Initially, he created graphic art and black-and-white woodcuts, gaining great acclaim.
