    Juan Andreu Sentamans Theodore was a Spanish impressionist and luminist painter and graphic artist. He was a follower of Joaquín Sorolla, who influenced him in the use of light.

    Teodoro Andreu was the son of José Andreu García and his second wife, Ascension Sentamans Salazar. He had three brothers and a sister. When Andreu was one years old, his father drowned by an overflow of River Júcar. In 1875 with his mother and sister, he moved to Madrid .

    In 1884 he began studying drawing and painting, first at the school of Fostering Arts and then at the School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando. His first known drawing was Head of Ecce Homo. In 1889 he entered the studio of J...
