    Friedrich Wilhelm Heinrich Theodor Hosemann was a German artist born in 1807 in Brandenburg/Havel. He worked as a lithographer and draftsman, and was known for his genre paintings, illustrations, and caricatures depicting the Berlin petty bourgeoisie of the Vormärz. Hosemann studied at the Düsseldorf Academy and worked for the publishing house "Winckelmann & Söhne" in Berlin. He created his first children's book illustrations in 1828 and first caricatures in 1830. Hosemann worked with satirist Adolf Glaßbrenner from 1834 to 1852. He was appointed professor in 1857 and became a member of the Berlin Academy of Arts in 1860. Hosemann died in Berlin in 1875.
