Born in Shanghai in 1960, Wang Tiande studied at the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts from which he graduated in 1988. He currently teaches at Fudan University in Shanghai and serves as the Dean of the Art and Design Department. A keen innovator of the calligraphy and painting traditions, Wang creates conceptual, experimental works that possess a distinctive mixed-media style, combining different materials and techniques.
