    The following biography, submitted December 2004, is from Vicki Haas, wife of the artist.

    Painter Tom Haas offers views of the American landscape, particularly the Southwest. Sometimes other subjects appear in his work such as small towns or early pueblo life to ranches and animals. His brush strokes portray light, form, color and atmosphere in addition to allowing the viewer to see the process of painting. He often works en plein aire, a French term for in the open air.

    The National Park Academy of the Arts recognized Tom Haas as "being in the top echelon of representational artists working today", with its Award For Excellence in 2002, 2003 and 2004. Home National Bank acquired two paintings by Haas for their offices...
