By 1990, having worked at woodcarving and gilding, Vergis opened a studio where she carved architectural ornament and did sign painting. During this time Vergis studied fine art in area studios and local colleges. Oil painting was her goal and woodcarving was the means to an end.

Next Vergis focused her energy toward the fine arts and opened a gallery, but finding she needed more time to paint she closed the gallery.

Now, with all of that in the past, Trisha's focus is on her development as an oil painter, and on guiding and mentoring her students in their development as painters. Trisha relishes painting daily, teaching oil painting in Lambertville at her studio, and living in such an artistically rich area.
