Troy Collins is a native of Montana, but has called Idaho home for the last twelve years. He has a background in landscape architecture, which provides him with critical principles of design.

However, he credits master landscape painter Robert Moore with inspiring his love of Russian Impressionism while developing a respect for the elements, which create quality in an interpretation of subject matter. The truths and principles he has learned from Moore have built a strong foundation in both art and life, and Collins has spent many hours studying and painting with Moore on location and in the studio.

He has recently won the Artists Choice at the Chapparal Plein-Air Show.
