    Tyrone Appollis started his art career as a painter and began sculpting in wood seriously from 1990. Currently he views himself as being a sculptor, painter, print-maker, poet and street musician. He considers political and social reconciliation to be a function of art - art as cross-cultural dialogue.

    Training
    1982-1987, CAP (part-time classes under Cecil Skotnes.

    Tyrone works in Mitchells Plain, Western Cape. He was active in the formation of the Mitchells Plain Art Group in 1988. Appollis traveled to England in 1989 on a British Council visitation for two weeks.
