    Victor Paul Mohn studied in Dresden from 1858 and from 1861-66 pupil in the studio of Ludwig Richter. He also worked with painters Albert Venus and Carl Wilhelm Müller. He visited northern Bohemia in 1861 and with Venus he visited Rügen and the Vilm. In 1866-67 they both stayed in Rome and together with Müller they wandered and drew in the footsteps of Richter (inter alia in Albano, Olevano and Civitella).
