    Vincenzo Volpe was an Italian painter and teacher born in 1855 in Grottaminarda, Italy, and passed away in 1929 in Naples, Italy. He studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in Naples and was influenced by the Verista school. Volpe's artistic career can be divided into three phases: genre painting and monacelle paintings (1874-1890), sacred art (1891-1896), and a period of new experiences in genre painting, sacred art, and portraits (1897-1929). He was a pupil of Domenico Morelli and became known for his portraits, landscapes, and frescoes. Volpe held a teaching position at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples and had various students, including Roberto Carignani.
